A quick video of one of the new machines at Iron gym, this is the Chest Supported standing Row. This is a brilliant machine as it takes away any lower back loading (which i’m currently avoiding) without taking away from being able to get a good session and add in some main exercises.
It can target most areas of the back dependant on grip, there are two handles, one at the top allowing you to take a wider grip and the one i’m using just below for a closer grip. choosing the lower grip with a more neutral hand position will target more the lower lats. A couple of Key points to remember with this are:
– Pull through your elbows, (not with your biceps)
– Imagine you are trying to touch your elbows
behind your back at the top of the movement
– Get a full stretch at the bottom (notice how I nearly let myself hang over the chest pad)
– Your chest coming off the pad slightly at the top isn’t a problem. if you feel it better that way then do it. everyone’s different.
