Procrastination
_

This is something that everyone can relate to. We have all put off that university assignment, delayed starting the gym or diet and continuing to sit about doing nothing. Delay tactics don’t get the job done and all of a sudden the deadline is upon us.
_

It’s the same when it comes to starting the gym. People are constantly making excuses as to why they can’t get started. This is procrastinating and they never get started and the holiday comes around and they don’t feel confident.
_

How can you overcome this?
_

Identify that you are a procrastinator

Don’t lie to yourself – admit that you are constantly putting off starting the gym. Take action, cut the excuses and do something about it. Stop lying about it.
_

Deal with the task you dread

If its the gym then do something about it. Get a workout structure which suits and which is going to get results. Hire a good coach who is going to keep you accountable to actually be there.
_

Deal with a lack of confidence

It could be a lack of confidence that is leading to procrastination. Try and build your confidence by going to the gym with a friend. This is going to help you to break down the confidence barrier.
_

Stay focused

Focus on the task in hand. Setting yourself weekly goals is a great way to stay on track with your performance in the gym.
_

Conquering the sense of overwhelm

Don’t delay the whole starting the gym thing because you’ll start to feel worse and worse which in turn is going to lead to a sense of overwhelm.
